I've come to Equestrian Event Photography via a background of Exhibiting Stud Beef Cattle, which has given me an understanding of an animal's structure, form, and conformation and on how best to present an animal.
Being a Nature Photographer for over 15 years, this has given me an understanding of how light and shade can make or break a photo, and the timing required to capture an animal at just the right moment.
As a younger person I played many sports, soccer, cricket, golf, middle distance running; so I have gained knowledge of what and how to pre-empt action, enabling myself in capturing a well timed photo.
I am now covering more Sporting Events as this too is an aspect of photography I enjoy; the challenge in capturing the participants at that crucial moment of endeavour.
Since early 2016 I became a GeoSnapShot Affiliate, Organising and Managing Events; including multi-day multi-discipline Events with a team of GSS Photographers, and as part of my brief I endeavour to cover as many of the participants at that Event.
Liaising with the Event Organisers in a Professional manner is an extremely high priority for me.
Recently I have had the honour of Judging the Photography Competition at both the Manilla and Tamworth Agriculture Shows.
I have recently ( end of 2023 ) been made an Honorary Life Member of the Tamworth ( Australia ) Camera Club.
As of September 2024, I am now an Accredited Equestrian Queensland Event Photographer.
